Recognized for her expertise in strategic fund development and marketing, Blythe Cotton Maling joined Wayfinder Family Services as chief development officer in 2017. Maling is well respected in the philanthropic community for her integrity, passion and commitment to vulnerable children and families.
Prior to joining Wayfinder, she was chief development officer and then interim president and CEO at St. Anne’s, a highly-regarded social service agency in Los Angeles. Her prior positions included vice president of development and communications for John Tracy Clinic and partner at the Los Angeles–based consulting firm QuantumMethod. She also worked for more than a decade leading the development and marketing efforts at Para Los Niños.
Maling is a member of the Children’s Chain supporting Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, the board of directors of the Old Mill Foundation and the Marlborough School Alumnae Council. In 2017, Maling was a finalist in the Fast Pitch Competition, a high-energy, rapid-fire presentation during which participants share the mission, vision and impact of their organization in just three minutes.
Maling earned a master’s degree in communication management from the Annenberg School of Communication at the University of Southern California and a bachelor’s in child development from the University of California, Berkeley. She earned a certificate from the University of California, Los Angeles in public relations and attended the UCLA program in fundraising.
