Become a valuable member of our organization and advance our mission by volunteering at Wayfinder. Last year, more than 1,300 volunteers contributed a total of 18,906 hours to Wayfinder’s programs, services and events. We couldn’t do our jobs without them!
Interested in being a volunteer? Please read the requirements below to find the spot that’s right for you.
We welcome volunteers age 15 and older in our administrative and development departments on our Los Angeles campus from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday-Friday, as needed. Tasks include stuffing envelopes, labeling, data entry, filing, paper shredding, etc.
Event Volunteer Opportunities
If you are age 16 or older, you can volunteer at any of our events throughout the year:
- Beeper Egg Hunts in March (Central Valley and Bay Area)
- Wayfinder Paralympic Games in April (Los Angeles)
- Wayfinder Halloween Carnival in October (Los Angeles)
- Walk in Their Shoes in November (Central Valley)
- Wayfinder Holiday Carnival in December (Los Angeles)
You can organize a group of your colleagues as corporate volunteers at our events. Click here to learn more.
Program Volunteer Opportunities
To volunteer in our programs, state licensing requires you to complete a fingerprint clearance certification and TB test. Therefore, we recommend that only volunteers interested in a long-term, regular volunteer commitment of six months or more apply. Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older. Please see events and office work for opportunities that do not require rigorous clearances.
