Wayfinder Family Services annual fundraiser will feature a panel discussion and awards ceremony.
This year’s panel discussion is Beyond Technology: Why Human Services Still Matter in the Age of AI
The Panel
Maja Matarić, Chaired & Distinguished Professor at the University of Southern California
Jon Steinberg, Podcaster, Writer and Wayfinder’s Independent Living Specialist
Pete Kinser, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of ThinkWyn
The panel will explore the importance of remaining human-centered as technology rapidly evolves to enhance the lives of those with disabilities and other challenges.
Dr. Matarić will discuss her pioneering work in the field of socially assistive robotics. This work is developing support for people with challenges, including autism, stroke, dementia, anxiety, and other major health and wellness challenges.
Steinberg will share insights from his experience with vision loss and his work as an instructor in Wayfinder’s Davidson Program for Independence, where he teaches adults who have recently lost their vision.
Kinser will moderate the panel, drawing on his expertise and focus on helping organizations design systems using humanity-centered technology and AI.
