Samir Shaibi is a living skills instructor for Wayfinder’s Hatlen Center and is responsible for ensuring that students in the program have the tools they need to perform their day-to-day activities independently.

Shaibi has been with The Hatlen Center since 2002, starting as a student and applying to be a night supervisor following graduation. His positive attitude and dedication to the program helped him grow into a role model to The Hatlen students. Shaibi is the 2005 recipient of KQED’s Local Hero Award and the 2017 recipient of the Distinguished Service Award by Wayfinder, recognizing his outstanding work in the field and to his students.
