Lois Booth is a Wayfinder

Meet our Director of Educational Services

How do you bring Wayfinder Family Services’ mission to life?

In the Special Education School putting people first and never giving up is embedded in our daily activities. Everything we do focuses on what each of our students and their family need and the staff never give up. If one strategy doesn’t work, we find another, and another, and another. My goal is to always provide each student and family with the tools they need to find their way.

What does being a Wayfinder mean to you?

The primary focus of my work is to always provide each student and family with the tools they need to find their way.

Can you share one of your favorite Wayfinder moments?

A very energetic elementary student enrolled in our school. She was not able to sit or stand still for more than a few seconds and was in constant motion. After months of work with our staff she was able to extend her sitting and standing time, which led to her ability to sit and learn. Her mother thanked us profusely. Tearfully, she shared the social impact on her family and that doors were literally opening for her daughter. With her daughter’s new skills they are now welcomed to visit the homes of others and host friends in their home.
