A big thank you to Jade Pillsbury, realtor at Guide Real Estate, member of Wayfinder’s Community Council and inspiring mother!
Jade and her husband adopted two children through Wayfinder and she shared her journey at this year’s Derby Day event.
Their son was only 10 days old when he was placed with them, weighing just 3.5 pounds. Today, he is a bright six-year-old with an amazing sense of humor.
When their younger daughter was placed with them, Jade and her husband were certain that she would be reunified with her birth mother. With compassion, a thorough understanding of foster care, and Wayfinder’s training and support, Jade navigated the complex emotions of wanting to parent while hoping for a birth parent’s success.
At the last minute, the case shifted; Jade and her husband adopted their daughter. Today, she is an outgoing four-year-old, a constant source of joy and a beloved little sister. Jade keeps in close contact with both her children’s birth families.
Jade credits Wayfinder for providing her with comprehensive training, support groups, and a consistent and caring social worker. She says, “My Wayfinder journey also taught me the value of family connections beyond traditional reunification.”
Thank you, Jade for sharing your remarkable story at Derby Day and for serving on the Community Council. We appreciate your leadership, generosity and support!
